Kids Soar Receives Donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation
Kids Soar has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed local neighbors in their time of need. Kids Soar will use the gift to continue their work in feeding kids and families across the Roanoke Valley. We have many initiatives that help us feed the Roanoke community and we are thrilled to use this gift from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help us continue our efforts!
“Our hearts are warmed that Food Lion recognizes our work and they are willing to help us continue our mission on a local level,” said Candace Hess, Executive Director of Kids Soar. Kids Soar works diligently to provide meals and snacks for families across Roanoke in many different ways. Since August 2020, Kids Soar has provided over 45,000 meals to families and an additional 8,880 meals to the kids in their programs. This incredible gift will ensure that these efforts can continue in a powerful and meaningful way.
The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across our its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves.
